Winklevoss Asset Services Files for Spot Zcash ETF With Proposed WINK Ticker
Winklevoss Asset Services filed a preliminary Form S-1 with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on October 6 for a proposed Winklevoss Zcash ETF. The fund would hold ZEC directly and is expected to seek a Nasdaq listing under the ticker WINK, but it cannot begin trading unless its registration becomes effective and the exchange approves the listing.

Preliminary Zcash ETF filing
The SEC filing proposes an exchange-traded fund with direct exposure to Zcash’s ZEC token, rather than exposure through derivatives.
Winklevoss Asset Services is pursuing the listed vehicle, with WINK proposed as its Nasdaq ticker.
The filing is preliminary. The proposed fund is not yet available to investors and would still need the registration to become effective and the exchange to approve the listing.
Gemini custody and proposed fee
Gemini Trust Company, an affiliate of the sponsor, would hold custody of the fund’s ZEC holdings, and the proposed annual sponsor fee is 0.25%, according to The Block.
The terms describe the intended operating structure, but the ETF remains proposed and has not reached the operational stage.
Affiliate indicates up to $100 million of share interest
Winklevoss Capital Fund has indicated nonbinding interest in purchasing up to $100 million of shares in the proposed fund, The Block reported. The indication is not a commitment to complete a purchase.
Conditions before WINK can trade
The registration statement must become effective, and Nasdaq must approve the proposed listing, before WINK can trade. Neither the preliminary S-1 filing nor the affiliated fund’s indicated share interest constitutes a launch approval.
